Rajkumar Hirani’s “Sanju” based on the real life of the famous Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, which has been going strong at the box office since the release is soon likely to make and break many new records. The movie has already surpassed the collection of Salman Khan starrer Tiger Zinda Hai. It is currently the fourth top grosser movie with almost Rs. 340 crore collection at home after 32 days of its release. It has also grossed in whopping Rs. 570 crore worldwide. It is by far the biggest release of the year and the best for its lead actor, Ranbir Kapoor.
The movie traverses through life of Sanjay Dutt, the ups and downs of his life, his friends, the women in his life, his drug addiction issues and illegal arms possession among others. There is a scene in the movie which shows that he actually thought of committing suicide when he was convicted. Most theater goes are impressed with the way the movie showcases him and his life. While some critics feel, that the movie just serves as his answer to the conviction in the bomb blast case, by trying to portray him as the good guy falling prey to wrong people and circumstances.
“Sanju” is the first Bollywood movie to be presented at the New Horizons Festival in Poland. It is also nominated for the Indian Film Festival at Melbourne. The film is also seen as the comeback for Ranbir Kapoor, who has been making all the wrong choices recently.
